Actor Vivek Oberoi is happy with the amazing response to Krrish 3 first promo. The trailer had gone viral within few hours of its launch and is still growing with more and more people becoming curious about his character, ‘Kaal’. Vivek considers himself fortunate to be a part of the series. According to him, it was Guddu uncle (
Rakesh Roshan) who created and conceived the character.
“I still remember the day when Hrithik called me up and said dad wants to meet you but he didn't tell me anything about it.”
When Vivek met Rakesh Roshan, he offered him the mighty villain
Kaal’s role. “I was rather shocked, took the script and went through it in one go at his office only. It was such a thrilling experience that I can’t explain in words.”
Initially, he had some doubts about playing the character but after coming to know that the role was actually written keeping him in the mind, he was humbled. “ It was a great compliment for me as an actor and made me emotional for a moment.”
When asked about his preparation for the role, he says that he thoroughly followed Rakesh Roshan’s instructions. “Hrithik also provided with his inputs. Besides him there were almost 20 people of the unit to keep an eye over the character; appearance, make-up, design, mannerism etc. which helped me a lot.”
Still on the first day of shooting, Vivek was nervous. “I couldn’t sleep the entire night as I was thinking about my character. The next morning when I performed the shoot, everybody clapped but I saw Guddu uncle coming towards me. I was a bit perplexed thinking about my performance. He hugged me and said “This is what I wanted. Now I am sure about my choice”. Hrithik too has praised Vivek's performance.
The actor had received some raving reviews for playing an anti-hero first in
Company and then later in
Shootout at Lokhandwala. He is again buoyant on playing
Kaal. “I’ve enjoyed watching some of the superheroes. Now I want to show people a super villain. I would say here is the 'daddy of all baddies',” says Vivek.
His earlier releases of the year,
Zila Ghaziabad and
Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story could create some ripples at the box-office but he is sure that films like
Grand Masti and especially
Krrish 3 will be loved by the audience. “It’s my eleventh year in the industry and I’ve done almost 40 films. So at least 10 of them I’ll say are unforgettable, which people will remember. Another thing is that I don’t bow under pressure because I know I can’t handle it. I’ve seen success and failure both in my life so I just enjoy my work and love to work hard,” concludes the actor.
Krrish 3 is set to release this Diwali.
